Privacy and security goes beyond the classroom

You want your children to have the best possible education and reach their full potential. Alongside that, you’ll want peace of mind that the technology your children are using inside and outside of school is safe. There are so many features on Apple devices that empower you, as a parent, to take control of how and when devices are used. You can create app limits, monitor and control their screen time, choose who your children communicate with throughout the day, and make sure they are only looking at child-friendly content. We want you to be rest assured that the built-in security features means that information on the devices are controlled, safe and cannot be shared with any third party.

We want to give you the tools to be confident in your children using technology at home

Apple technology has been designed with parental controls, so you can feel completely at ease with how your child is accessing content and using the apps. We've listed all of the key features available to you, such as monitoring screen time, controlling app purchases and the usage of built-in applications, and restricted web searches.

Keeping them safe on the internet

You can set up your kids’ devices to limit adult content or open only websites that you select. You can also install special web browsers that are designed to display kid-friendly content and nothing else.

Viewing and accessing appropriate content

With a few taps you can keep your kids from accessing films, TV programmes, music, apps, books or podcasts that contain things you don’t want them to see or hear.

Monitor screen time

The Screen Time feature lets you set the amount of time you and your children can spend each day on specific apps and websites. You can create exceptions for specific education apps, and they can always request more time for you to approve.

Set content and privacy restrictions

With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child’s device. And restrict the settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch for explicit content, purchases and downloads, and privacy.

Allow built-in apps and features

You can restrict the use of built-in apps or features. If you turn off an app or feature, this won’t delete it, it’s just temporarily hidden from your Home screen. For example, if you turn off Mail, the Mail app won’t appear on your Home Screen until you turn it back on.

Prevent web content

iOS can automatically filter website content to limit access to adult content in Safari and apps on your device. You can also add specific websites to an approved or blocked list, or you can limit access to only approved websites.
