Case Study

Police Force benefit from XMA supplying £3M worth of technology to refresh their IT estate

Challenge: XMA worked with one of the largest forces in the country with 3707 officers, serving a population of 1.5 million people in the northeast of England. They wanted to procure a supply of desktops, laptops and associated peripherals for a duration of 3+ years.
XMA worked in partnership with the force, providing guidance and advice, by bringing together internal and external device specialists, to assess, test and select the latest generation of devices for the force. But more significantly, in a major cost-saving exercise, XMA advised the force how they could avoid investing solely in new devices, by identifying and supplying component parts to upgrade the current desktop fleet, refreshing DFU high specification analysis desktops and enabling special fitting and customisation of lower specification desktops. Peripherals and accessories were also available at short notice. On the basis of delivery of this hardware contract we became a trusted partner of the force, and they subsequently requested XMA’s support to deliver the professional services and licenses for a project on API Led Connectivity. XMA continue to work in partnership with the force, beyond the original contract duration of 3 years
