Helping Great Ormond Street Hospital more towards a paperless future
Specialist children’s hospital, Great Ormond Street had been managing its patient care with traditional paper records, charts and care plans.
In partnership with Apple, over 1,000 Apple devices were deployed across the trust, putting patient information in the hands of clinicians at the earliest opportunity.
Nursing staff were able to input patient observations enabling earlier intervention from senior carers, medicals reports could be accessed from one central place and tasks for doctors could be added in real time, for immediate action.
The iOS is compliant with Government standards on security out of the box and approved for use in healthcare by Health and social care information centre and data held by the device is encrypted, providing a secure and robust solution for use in a highly complex environment.
