Where we came from
XMA was established as a family run business in the 1980s and we quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the top ten largest value-added resellers in the UK. We are proud of our British roots, with regional offices across the country:
1982
XMA began life as Elganhurst Limited in Nottingham, supplying computer equipment and consumables
1986
Elganhurst Limited had reached a £1 million turnover, changed its company name to XMA Limited and moved to its new offices in Nottingham
2007
In 2007, we were acquired by the Westcoast group and became part of a £1.4 billion, British owned group
2015
We acquired Viglen, moving some of our operation to St Albans
2019
XMA acquired Data Select which further enhanced our portfolio
2021
We separated from the Westcoast Group to become a fully fledged independent company
2022
We acquired Capito - service delivery company based in Scotland
2024
We acquired GBM Group, bolstering our offerings across Apple and Microsoft for our customers. Acquired Datapac, expanding our solutions and expertise to Ireland
2026
Opened new offices in Glasgow and Reading to support our growth ambitions
