Introducing XML ordering online
XML is becoming the fastest growing method of
eCommerce. It can replace telephone ordering and enables orders,
order acknowledgments and invoices to be transmitted electronically
without the human intervention and integrating them automatically
into the host systems cutting costs, time and the need for re-keying.
This type of electronic communication has been available from
XMA Ltd through traditional EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
and various ASCII format files via FTP for many years which can
be expensive or a complex process to set up.
BASDA (The Business & Accounting
Software Developers Association) has developed an international
standard business template for electronic business. In XMA Ltd's
progression to provide the customer with a better, less costly
and more fluid service this is the standard in which XMA Ltd
has decided to develop and encourage it's customers to use.
There are standard development off the shelf software
packages for e-BISXML available including several Microsoft packages.
Already many companies which are capable of sending, receiving,
reading and posting eBIS-XML messages use this standard which
XMA is embracing.
The above document tries to remove the complication
of the standard schemas available on the BASDA website (www.basda.org )
and only lists the required data needed in the purchase order
file for XMA Ltd to raise sales orders and for the customer to
interpret the acknowledgements and invoices sent back.
